Rained today

Yesterday it was 101 degrees Fahrenheit on the bank clock. The people in church said that it was 98 degrees in Eureka when they checked the temperature there. This morning we woke to rain. It was so nice to have cool weather and moisture without heaving a storm set in. It misted on the way to church and was raining when we got home. I went out to check the rain gauge and found 1/2 an inch so far.

The flowers are in bloom even in the rain, and today we saw that the first of the sunflowers has opened.

I took a few other pictures. The basil is finally starting to come around so hopefully there will be enough when it is time to can the tomato-basil soup.  The pots at the bottom were in bad shape when we got home from Dickinson, but with a little water and some dead heading, they are doing quite well today. Enjoy and Happy Gardening.
