Growing after the rain

We just emptied the rain gauge again tonight and found about 2.5 inches in it. This was from Monday and Tuesday. Today, Wednesday, started as a dreary, cool and slightly foggy day, but turned out pretty well. I was in the office in church, and actually a bit cold. My fingers were happy to wrap around the coffee cup at one point, but by the end of the afternoon, the office was rather cozy. Anyway without any really pressing items to finish up, I started getting antsy and got out of there in order to get home and check how the garden was growing. This is what I found. By the time we hit the harvest, you are going to be so sick of seeing the same view with a taller plant.

Corn is nearly six inches. It should be knee high by July 4th, which is the standard around here to show that you planted well.

I added the middle row of six last week. Hopefully we guarantee a good harvest just by quantity. This puts us at 45 plants, down from some years. Ha!!

Radishes are in row. We are finally seeing some lettuce emerge. Now if the spinach would just come up.

The birds are really enjoying the fences in the garden this year. We have seen lots of birds walking through and eating something. I sure hope they are getting rid of any bad bugs before they reproduce.

So the cutlines below are begging for someone to make a comment. If anyone has any thoughts about the statements below these final pictures give me an answer, an opinion, or just tell me I don’t know what I am talking about. Be nice about that last one please, it could hurt my feeling. Ha!! I really would like any ideas that you have really.

Pear tree coming from the bottom. I am not sure if I should let nature take its course here or pull it out and plant a different tree. This was rather expensive at least in my terms of spending on a plant of any kind.
